Tsutomu Sasaki (Representative Director of 9Arrows LLC & President of i3Systems Inc.) has announced that 9Arrows, a common tasking system (WBS) featuring the latest in Ruby & Ajax, will open to the public as open source software available free of charge on Tuesday, the 9th of September, 2008. 9Arrows features WBS (Work Breakdown Structure/Work Resolution Charts), a state-of-the-art project management mechanism.
9Arrows becomes the first open source tasking system made with Ruby to be opened to the public for domestic use. In 9Arrows, the latest software developments (e.g. AdobeAIR) act as the frameworks for Flash as well as Flex, RIA (ExtJS); Ruby on Rails is used as the JavaScript framework. 9Arrows can be downloaded from the official 9Arrows, LLC. website. The distribution license at present is GPL v3; 9Arrows is offered free of charge for both commercial and research purposes. Recruitment for the development community of 9Arrows is done on the official website. In addition, an easy-to-access ASP version of 9Arrows is also available on the official website. The 9Arrows ASP edition can be used fully without the hassle of having to set-up a server.

9Arrows LLC:
Now, the following three organizations have come together to oversee and manage the open source development of 9Arrows: i3Systems Inc. [Fukuoka] (developers of 9Arrows), Fukuoka Business I.T. Center [Fukuoka] (masters of S.I. IMB), and Asial Corporation [Tokyo] (managers of our open source community).
9Arrows was established on the 3rd of September, 2008 and opened to the public shortly after on the 9th of September the same year. Recruitment for the 9Arrows Development Community is currently underway.
